Let’s face it–kids are still developing their fine motor skills, and it’s easy enough for them to bump or jostle whatever they’re working on. An overload of pieces and new shape names and pictures could easily become discouraging for little mathematicians. And while this may limit the learning opportunities for older kids, it’s probably just right for young ones. And as anyone with young kids knows, durability is key!Ĭons: While this geometry puzzle set gets kids assembling 40 different puzzles, in reality, they’ll only be exploring 10 different shapes. Additionally, each puzzle is printed on thick, durable cardboard, making them relatively resistant to tough play. Combined, these features will provide kids with frustration-free mastery of shapes and geometry. Each puzzle is made up of only 2 pieces, and only correct matches will fit together. What we like about it: If you’re looking for a great introductory geometry STEM toy, this shape-based puzzle from Trend Enterprises is a great place to start. There’s definitely an opportunity for this puzzle set to grow with your kids! And it would be a great addition to any preschool or kindergarten classroom. Younger kids can match pictures of shapes to photos of everyday objects, while those a bit older can match shape names like “rhombus” and “square” to their corresponding shapes.
